To continue with the life of take-aways, this time we tried something even more special, i.e., 煲仔飯 take-aways at 龍德樓. 煲仔飯 was really great for winter but with no dining in for dinner, takeaway could be an option too.For their 煲仔飯, they had quite a lot of choices and we chose 蝦乾排骨飯. Then we decided to try out their abalone series and chose 鮑魚花膠尚品煲. We also ordered a 小菜 to share and we chose 黃金蝦球. We also ordered a 小菜 to share and we chose 黃金蝦球. As we seldom made soup at home, we also ordered 2 soups.
They had so many takeaway orders that we had to wait a while. Everything was nicely packed in plastic boxes. Each dish needed 1 takeaway box which was charged at $2 each.
蝦乾排骨飯 $88
The rice was put in an aluminium foil box, unless other dishes. The rice grain was really those typical 煲仔飯 rice grain which was long and thin and pretty dry. There were around 8 pieces of dried shrimps with around 10 pieces of pork ribs. The pork ribs contained some fat but not overly fatty and were crispy and tender. Some sliced Chinese mushrooms and 雞髀菇 were added to enhance texture. The 煲仔飯 soy sauce was served separately although I personally found that it was equally good eaten without the soy sauce because the dried shrimp was salty enough.

鮑魚花膠尚品煲 $148
The box was full of fresh food ingredients with 2 abalones, 2 pieces of fish maws, 2 oysters, 2 pieces of 魚肚, 2 fresh scallops, 2 prawns, 1 big Chinese mushroom, 4 pieces of broccolis, and 4 big pieces of bean curd puffs. Honestly, we could tell that all ingredients were of high quality. The abalones had the very nice chewy texture although the flavour was not particularly outstanding. The fish maws were reasonably thick and crispy. The fresh scallops were very very fresh and absolutely not too chewy. The prawns were fresh too. It was a very healthy pot as it was absolutely free of oil yet still well flavoured, maybe due to the garlic and ginger. Highly recommended. If eaten in, I am sure this dish would have been even better!

黃金蝦球 $88
There were 8 big pieces of king prawns in the box, bottomed by some crispy rice. At first we thought they were plain rice but then we found out they were crispy rice! Before eating, we actually worried that the prawns might have turned too moist and soft after getting home. But we were so surprised that the prawns still tasted pretty good with reasonably thin batter and meaty & fresh prawn flesh! I particularly liked the amount of salted egg yolk which was so perfect that the prawns were not too salty but well flavoured. Good dish!

杏汁菜膽燉白肺 $28
It was quite time-consuming to make pork lung soup at home so we immediately decided to order this when we saw it on the menu! Not many Chinese restaurants still served this nowadays! The soup was still slightly warm when we got home. It smelt super super nice of almond tea which made me feel like I was drinking sweet soup! The soup was super super smooth and tasted perfectly nice with rich flavour of almond yet it was so clear and free of oil! There were 4 small pieces of pork lungs which were crispy and delicious! There was also a small piece of pork. The piece of 菜膽 was quite tender and there was a piece of carrot in the soup. It was a very good soup and $28 was really not expensive at all!
是日燉湯 $28
The soup of the day seemed to be pears plus 南北杏. The pear slices were very sweet and tender. There was a piece of pork and sweet corn in addition to the 南北杏 and 糖冬瓜. Flavour-wise, it was really very 清潤 with clear and delicious soup. Good for the dry season! I particularly liked how there were so many ingredients in the soup.
There was a 10% discount so it was only $175.5 per head. Yet both of us were so full with nice quality food items! No wonder it was so busy. Look forward to dining in some day later.
