To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日係2017既最後一日,仲要係假期星期日,除夕倒數出街食預左多人。晏晝出動,同朋友行下街睇下電影打發時間,失算左既係,電影完場時間已差唔多到左夜晚開飯黃金時段,仲要係旺角區,都心知不妙。由是呢日天氣幾凍下,實在不得不去打番個邊爐賀賀佢(3個人打散叫邊爐又唔抵食又貴),但係旺角2小時任食邊爐條龍長到望唔到盡頭咁濟﹛於是靈機一觸,諗起黃埔果頭角位都有間任食打邊鋪,於是即刻搭地鐵過黎。黎到都係7點15分左右,門外有為數10多人,扲左籌3個人要等15張枱。就係咁一等等左成2個幾鐘,差唔多10點先入座(不過大時節真係要有好強既心理準備預左),晚餐變消夜,唔敢想像係旺角排會唔會變左早餐呢,哈哈)係漫長既等待期間既揀好湯底,辛辣泡菜同豬骨湯底,揀食最BASIC級數既牛牛。其實堅持排,最大原因係鐘情日式邊爐多於中式,個湯底多花款變化,辛辣泡菜湯係完勝,仲有一班友都係牛王精,最鐘意食牛,黎到其實都主要主打任食牛,已經唔太記得消化左幾多碟牛,就係勁食無極限既LEVEL抵銷番晒回本,日式打邊黎講味道不俗,所以等都值既。除夕夜呢日好難忘,有別於一般既除夕,皆因等食等左2個半鐘咁濟。不過同三五知己聚埋一齊開心
