8 of us at Shoreditch for my friend's birthday.

My first time at Shoreditch, but few of my friends eat there a lot as they live around Kennedy Town, and love the beer.

GOOD:
Loved the RIBEYE !! Warning – this is a SERIOUSLY BIG STEAK! Menu says share for two, but there was enough for three…

We dine at Mandarin Bar & Grill, Intercontinental Steakhouse and Four Seasons Lounge regularly but I have to say that Shoreditch’s 36oz bone-in ribeye is the BEST steak I have eaten in Hong Kong.

Very tender and juicy, perfectly cooked (we had medium rare) and full of flavour. This is not a cheap steak, but its big enough for 2 or 3 sharing and it is definitely the best steak I have had in Hong Kong. You have got to try this!

The steak was served with onion rings and roasted cherry tomatoes. We ordered a side of chips (which were proper chips, not French fries or wedges) and a salad.

We had a bottle of margaux and a bottle of pinot noir – both good and reasonably priced.

Our friends ordered scallops to start and lamb for the main. We tried some (in exchange for some of our steak!) and both were very good. I will order scallops next time I come!

We finished with a variety of desserts and a cheese board. Cheeses were English – there was a Stilton, a Cheddar and a Wensleydale. I had a glass of house port which was fine.

Shoreditch is a British restaurant and serves British beers, but none that I have heard of. I had the Saint Mungo which is a draft lager from Scotland and was very smooth – not harsh like Carlsberg or Heineken, but very smooth to drink.
Staffs are nice n friendly, will 100% come back!!

2nd time back on the 13 Nov Sunday

Staff recognize us straight away and very welcoming.

I had kedgeree (kind of like Singapore fried rice), and my husband had a full English breakfast. Both were excellent.

I tried an Earl Grey martini (my new favourite) and hubby was back on the St Mungo.

Don’t miss: 36oz Bone-in Ribeye, real chips, Earl Grey martinis, friendly staff.

Cons: Toilets were spotlessly clean but could be bigger.
