To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 親友暢聚,有老有嫩,到酒家享用傳統中菜,就容易滿足各人口味。是次一行14人(大部分食量不多)聚餐,共 order 兩個6人套餐。前菜有兩款:北京醬前蹄 與 胡麻醬雞絲拉皮。豬手片脂肪偏少,蘸醬吃的話味道過咸。我認為屬普通質素,親友則大讚好食。胡麻醬雞絲拉皮亦不算突出,粉皮幸不至於太硬實,胡麻醬味道沒有過重或唔夠味。北京宮爆蝦球為今餐中我最欣賞的一味! 蝦球彈牙、大粒、啖啖肉,兼富蝦鮮味,微微酸辣惹味! 如果唔係食得多肉易滯加上要顧及同枱親友,分分鐘食唔停口!烤北京填鴨 與 無錫灌湯小籠包。兩項京滬美點都令人滿意:鴨肉富鴨味,小籠包內注滿香甜熱湯!姬松茸上湯時蔬:務實的一味。套餐中的蔬菜元素,食材未有煮得過火。桂花酒釀丸子:桂花酒釀味道不錯,可丸子煮得過腍,完全沒有嚼頭,令人失望。整體而言,本用餐經驗的食物屬中等至中上水平。北京樓一直是一間聲譽不錯的餐廳,如希望在較舒適環境用餐,可予以考慮。
