At first I was rather suspicious of this Yakitori shop located at Observatory Road as the vibes does not look tooJapanese to me.
However, it turned out to be one of the more authentic ones in the area.
They had a decent selection of Yakitori items & cooked food. They also had a fairly comprehensive drinks list with about 30-40 odd types of sake. The menu was in Chinese, English and Japanese.
Draft beer $58 per pint.
The sake we ordered tasted like mild vinegar but was quite refreshing.
We were given generous amount of okura and shishito. Those were grilled nicely.
The ankimo was not cheap but again, the portions were quite huge and were delicious.
The tiger prawn with uni appeared to be a signature item. Tiger prawn was meaty but the uni was barely detectable.
We didn't know what to expect with the Kagoshima "Red chicken" but were pleasantly surprised at the nice umami of the chicken.
Chicken heart and chicken kidneys were both very professionally done.
The only quibble might be that the food in general could be a bit warmer.
Friendly service. All in all a pleasant find in this part of TST. Worth a try.
