It’s that time of the year for hairy crab season!Last year we went to @waitwaithea for 88 minutes of all-you-can-eat hairy crab and Taiwanese food I was kind of annoyed that we had to wait 30 minutes to enter despite having made a booking in advance. To be fair, I guess it does hint the ‘wait’ in their name, and the deal is a real steal, so it’s no surprise that they were super packedPrices start at HKD498 depending on the size of the crab you choose - the best part is that you can choose either

Prices start at HKD498 depending on the size of the crab you choose - the best part is that you can choose either male (better tasting meat) or female (more gooey roe)
While the main point is the hairy crab, here’s some of the other stuff we would recommend if you’re still not full:
- Taiwanese fried chicken (the thousand island sauce was the highlight)
- Fried cuttlefish balls (couldn’t taste any crab meat though)
- Grilled eel
- Taiwanese drinks (they have a large selection to choose from and everything we ordered was quite decent)
- Ginger soup with taro balls (just to warm up the body after eating crabs)
Overall, I would say it’s worth going to satisfy your hairy crab craving, but just don’t have super high expectations LOL
