Booked a spot at Roganic for lunch on a weekday -- I was super excited for it! The dining room was pretty full even on a Thursday so I'd recommend reserving a spot before you go. There are a number of menu options available, but in the end we opted for the Business Lunch Set for $280. Including 3 courses, hors d'oeuvres and bread. Goats Cheese Tart To start, they brought us these bite sized tarts. The tart shell was super thin and crisp, and the soft filling had a nice cheese flavour to it.Irish

To start, they brought us these bite sized tarts. The tart shell was super thin and crisp, and the soft filling had a nice cheese flavour to it.

One of my favourite things from the meal! I liked the way it was plated on top of some grains too, I thought it was really fun. The bread had more of a muffin texture, was served warm and tasted really nice. It was served with a cultured butter which paired really nicely with the bread.

I wish I got a picture of the server pouring this out of the syphon gun! I saw the other table order it and decided I wanted to get one for myself. It was a chilled butterfly pea tea, which when it comes out of the syphon gun, comes out in that bubbly foam, then slowly settles into the pretty purple drink. I think this is definitely more for aesthetics more than for the drink itself because the tea was just mildly sweet. But definitely super fun!

We also had a look at the drinks menu and was really interested in the description of this mocktail. I believe the description said something like bok choi, choi sum, soy, chilli. We asked the server what it tasted like and he said it's similar to a Bloody Mary -- so we went for it! Was definitely intriguing. The most surprising thing was that this drink was spicy! It wasn't really sweet, had a slight soy taste too. It wasn't as frightening as it sounds -- it does resemble a bloody mary! Give it a try if you're interested😉

As a starter, I ordered the mackerel tartare dish. The mackerel was coated in an oyster emulsion, topped with the cucumber, microgreens and the herb oil. The whole dish was balanced really nicely, yums!

I was going to get this at first because I didn't realise that the whipped parfait was a liver parfait, maybe they should've indicated that this was a meat dish for all those non-meat eaters out there (like me!). My bf said that the liver was really nice and went well with the crispy waffle and cranberry toppings.

As a main, I chose the salmon dish with roasted leeks, a potato foam on top and a walnut crumb under the fish. The salmon was really soft and flakey, the leeks soft and the potato foam was had a great smokey flavour to it. Overall really delicious!

My bf had the chicken dish, featuring tender pieces of chicken, crispy chicken skin, sweet corn and an egg yolk in he middle. Even though I didn't get to taste it, he said it was really well cooked and that he really enjoyed it! He would go back for it, which I guess says something about how yum it was.

For dessert, I ordered this not really knowing what to expect. Served in a chilled stone bowl, is an ice cream (can't remember which flavour it was lol), which had a mild caramel flavour. Along with a rich sauce and burnt milk skins (which were really interesting, but I liked it!)🙈

At the bottom (also in a chilled stone bowl, LOVE), is a yoghurt sorbet, with bits of fruit and a light juice to go with it. The whole dessert was really light and refreshing, but it did have dill as a main flavour, which my bf didn't really liked. But that's okay, I finished it off for him ☺️

This came with dessert too as it was my birthday!

Overall, a wonderful birthday lunch experience. The food was amazing and really unique, I highly recommend coming here on special occasions. I would love to try the tasting menu next time just so I could try more of the food! 😍
