It is one of my favourites because it's my second time trying this exact dish at VeggieSF, and the quality still remains superb. The black olives here are so tasty that even a person who don't normally like having olives (hello there) cannot wait to devour all of them. I wonder what kind of speical methods are used to ease that stingy taste which olives normally have.
This dish may not look particularly pleasing at the first sight as the following dish, but it certainly is one of the best at the restaurant.

AM I IN BALI? May I just say it's a really sumptous and creative dish. Served on a huge green leaf, it added more exotic vibes to this dish. Its components include: fried tofu that successfully retains the soft, moist texture in its innermost bit; fried Indonesian 'dor dor' that resembles chicken - really tasty and chewy; 1/4 corn (too bad it isn't organic!); 1/4 banana; RICE TOPPED WITH COCONUT SAUCE; sweet cabbage (with some soy sauce maybe) mixed with nuts and cashew; tomato slices and cucumber slices. Above all, the amazing peanut dressing served in that small dish. (For friends who have food allergies, feel free to tell the staff so that they can make other arrangements for you ) Apparently you need to pay an extra $5 for that amazing goodie sauce.
The biggest highlight is that the rice tastes really smooth with the coconut sauce, and the 'fake chicken' is so crispy and matches really well with the peanut sauce.
Loking forward to introduce other dishes after my next visit. I noticed that they change their menu a bit - with the changes on soup, form the beatroot soup (lunch) to radish soup (dinner), and you can order a set for dinner that is $68: soup/dessert + drink. Had a chocolate lava cake with my sweetheart, which made it extra sweet. That VEGAN chocolate though. Marvellous!
Great ambience - really retro, and super funny little stickers at the lift area. Very clean. My favourite seat is just under the 24th(?) Avenue where you can overlook the whole place, of course, with my favourite person. Great & v friendly service. Veggiesf has earned its 'best western vegetarian' title in my heart. I cannot recommend this place enough for y'all out there.
