As an enthusiastic matcha fan, I'm always ready to try any matcha flavored snacks/drinks/desserts, so imagine my excitement when I read about Sinmei Tea from a magazine. The food turned out pretty decent, though I must admit I was slightly disappointed. I look for a rich and thick matcha flavor, and only a couple of them are satisfying. I pre-ordered the Birds Nest dessert assortment (not available for walk-in), which are made of mini-sizes of each dessert: banana pie, apple pie, matcha loaf cake, matcha angel cake along with tofu toast and cheese crackers. My favorite is the matcha angel cake. It's soft and has the right taste of matcha. The loaf cake was kind of too bland...and the fruit pies aren't that good either. The place itself is kind of hot and cramped as well. Not exactly the ideal place to chill.
