Boyfriend and I decided to eat at home that night so we did takeaway at La Rotisserie.

La Rotisserie is a shop geared for take away but there are a table available for those that want to eat there. They specialize in French roasted chicken and import their chickens from France. They have shops in not onl Wanchai but Sheung Wan and Sai Ying Pun.

We ordered the two people set for $140 which came with half a chicken and two side dishes. We also added on an asparagus quiche and a bottle of French cider. All was neatly packed away in a sturdy black cardboard box.

The half roasted chicken was wrapped in aluminum foil. It came with a tiny container of oil. At first I thought it was gravy but it tasted like oil. Anyways, gravy wasn't really needed. The chicken was moist and fell apart from the bone. It was packed with flavor and wasn't bland at all.

The two person set also came with a choice of two side dishes. We chose roasted potatoes and spinach quinoa. The sides were neatly placed in plastic containers. The roasted potatoes were really good. Soft on the inside and crispy outside. It was heavily coated with herbs and seasoned perfectly. Possibly the best roasted potatoes I've had in a long time. The spinach quinoa was also great and definitely the best quinoa I've had to date. They were cooked perfectly so they no longer had that raw texture that I hate sometimes. Portion size for the side dishes was generous. I even had left over quinoa to take to work the next day.

Asparagus Quiche ($45). We decided to try the quiche of the month so ordered a slice. The quiche was really pretty good with a nice balance of egg and cheese. It could have been a bit thicker but it was pretty  good none the less.

Apple Cider ($38). We shared a bottle of apple cider that is from France. We each had a glass each so for $38, not too bad a price. The cider was sweet with not too strong alcohol taste which I like.

This came out to $223 for take away. Kind of expensive for take away but then again, it did taste really good. Would return again if in the mood.
