There are not many good choices for shabu-shabu in Hong Kong, so to our mind this place is a welcomed addition to the local repertoire. There are not many good choices for shabu-shabu in Hong Kong, so to our mind this place is a welcomed addition to the local repertoire. Recently we came to try their dinner sets (beef and seafood, with snapper fish soup base), as well as a few other goodies. Starters included a bowl of Japanese broad bean and clam soup, both of which were nice. As expected, all the ingredients were fresh and tasty; the wagyu beef slices got quite a rich beefy flavour, while the seafood items (especially the oyster and cherry stone clam) as well as the mixed vegetables were also fresh and delicious
The soup base was flavourful yet not too salty, and at the end we almost finished the whole bowl after putting in the tangy udon for the "final round". Also worth mentioning were the skewers, which were surprisingly good as well; we tried one with kimchi and pork, while the other one was minced chicken meat with quail egg. By this stage we were all stuffed, and we decided to forgo most of the red bean ice cream pudding that came at the end as dessert. Service was prompt and efficient, and the restaurant owner was actually quite friendly and offered us a lot of recommendations and advices during the meal
One thing they could certainly improve on would be the drink list (only some canned beer and soft drinks were available). Also since the place is pretty small, reservation is a must. Would definitely come back to try other stuff later
