A bit on the expensive side for a lunch in this neck of the woods, but nevertheless it was worth a try and provided me with an answer as to why people in pairs / groups would line up for this ramen joint at lunchtime. Firstly I would recommend anyone who wants to eat lunch at this joint to go in PAIRS. If you are going with more than 2 people, then you will be subject to a decent wait (around 15 minutes, which is long because I only have a strict, hour-long lunch break), although the staff are very helpful and kind in organising tables. This may include some reshuffling of existing clients, so be prepared to move for the sake of larger tables if you aren't seated and eating.
Back to the food itself.
I ordered a thick miso ramen with dumplings. The dumplings were slightly oily - the oil from the dumplings oozed out as I took my first bite into them, I had to wipe the residual oil off my chin.
The thick miso ramen was commendable, the soup base was full of flavour (courtesy of Ajinomoto?), although don't expect the gigantic pieces of char siu you might otherwise find in ramen stalls throughout Japan. There were a lot of vegetables and seaweed in the ramen, which I really liked.
Service was friendly and rather efficient. You may have to point at the menu if you don't come across a Chinese speaking waitress - broken Cantonese is OK, spoken Japanese is obviously most desirable.
