Late at night, boyfriend and I were in Jordan thinking we should have dinner. We came across 阿芳上海餛飩 (English name: Ah Fong Shanghai Wonton) and thought the name looked familiar. Looking at the press clippings on the window, it was the small little restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui. Apparently, it has moved to Jordan in a much larger space! Menu is in Chinese but they have an English menu available. There is no 10% service charge. The noodles come with a glass of soybean milk and you can add an appetizer for a small discount.

Soybean milk was pretty good. Not too sweet. A good amount of soybean taste.

We shared two appetizers. This was the spiced beef shank ($15 with set). This was a bit odd as there was a lot of sauce. The sauce was super sweet as well. I wasn't too sure about this. It tasted ok but I guess I wasn't used to the sauce. The beef shank was good though. The sauce was just a bit uncalled for. But then boyfriend dipped his dumplings in it so it wasn't a total waste.

The other appetizer we chose was the marinated bran dough with peanuts (actually it's flat green beans) and black fungus ($18). This was ok. It had the same taste as the sauce that was added to the beef shank.

I ordered a bowl pork and chives dumplings with noodles ($42). It arrived with tiny sakura shrimp on top that were a bit salty. The dumplings were great. Filling was abundant and the wrapping was not to thick. Soup was ok with not much MSG taste. The noodles were the thick Shanghai kind. You can substitute with rice cakes if you want.

Boyfriend had the onion and pork dumplings with noodles ($42). If you love onions, this is packed with onion. The whole dumpling was filled with finely diced red onion.

Inexpensive meal with a good bowl of noodles. The dumplings were good. And since they moved to Jordan, the space is much larger and a lot cleaner. The old one was really tiny and one corner was often taken up with someone making dumplings by hand.
