Looking for a quick lunch in Central? A la Bakery is one such place. You'll find all sorts of bread, pastries and desserts here. Other products include a selection of jams and other fine French ingredients. For my late lunch, I chose a combo of sandwich and soup. For my late lunch, I chose a combo of sandwich and soup. Actually, I shouldn't have opted for soup because of the hot weather. The onion soup was boiling hot. As a result, I burnt my tongue a few times. Besides having strong pepper flavour, the soup had plenty of onion strips in it. For my main dish, I had a simple ham and cheese baguette sandwich. It looked rather small, but it was filling. The simplicity of its flavour was more enjoyable than the peppery soup.
In addition to good food, the service was great. The waitress kindly offered me a cup of cold water, which I very much needed. Keep up the good work, A la Bakery!
