I have passed by this gelato shop many times when I went shopping at Langham Place Shopping Mall, but I have never thought of trying their desserts coz my bro told me that he once tried their ice cream and it was nothing special. However, today when I went shopping with my friend, she suggested going to Pappagallo for some refreshment. As I didn't want to order their tradtional gelato cones just as my frd did, so I looked through the dessert menu and something suddenly caught my eye -- Molten C
However, today when I went shopping with my friend, she suggested going to Pappagallo for some refreshment. As I didn't want to order their tradtional gelato cones just as my frd did, so I looked through the dessert menu and something suddenly caught my eye -- Molten Chocolate Cake 心太軟 $25/ with ice cream $36 -- which was rather cheap when compared to the same dish in other restaurants. I immediately ordered that one and chose the ice cream flavor. I tried a few ice cream flavors and but most of them taste rather bland to me, except the Cappucino Caramel Cookie flavor. It's not very sweet and the cappucino flavor was pretty strong.
There were a few seats inside the shop and we gladly took our seats by a small table. It took around 5 min for the dessert to arrive. To my surprise, the size of the "molten cake" was rather huge (relative to its price) and there was much chocolate sauce "running" out from the cake. Though the cake wasn't baked hot as in the traditional recipe, it made a decent dessert with its thoughtful and pretty garnishes. The cake was sweet, but it's acceptable to me. Next time I'm gonna try their Creme Brulee ($25) with ice cream ($36)!!
