Hong Kong has claimed the title of "Food of Capital" in Asia since long. Living in this city, surrounded by sinful gourmet has its pros and cons. In order to even off those unhealthy intakes, i need to do sports and indulge in healthy meals from time to time. Genie Juicery was founded by 2 Australians in 2011 and it provides juices, smoothies, nuts, coffee and raw food etc. It occupied a small corner at IFC mall, at the heart of the bustling financial hub. Shop was nicely decorated and all drinks are displayed at the store front, easy for customers to visualise themselves and grab.
In spite of its small store front, their menu was quite impressive. It stated individual drink's calories intake and ingredients involved. The name of the drinks was quite catchy as well.
Smooth Operator - As i had a heavy breakfast, i decided to go easy on my stomach. I asked the staff for some recommendation and she told them that smooth operator was one of their best selling drinks. It contains banana, avocado, spinach, apple, chia & vanilla. Because of the avocado, the drink was slightly buttery and it was really quite good. It really lived up to its claim. I do not think that they add in alot of water to dilute it.
Paleo choc chip cookie - As a chocolate maniac, i will not resist the chance to order one. The size of the cookie was slightly tiny and was thin. Even though the price was slightly on the high side, the taste helps to compensate for it. It was really different from those cookie i tasted outside. When i took a bite, the rest of the cookie was still intact and the texture was of sticky type. There was almonds in it as well and slightly bitter, which i liked.
