A new and old place this time: old because I had been to its other Mamaday branches in CWB and TST; and new because it was my first time to visit this branch. I thought my lunch partner was asking me out for lunch but it ended up being a cake and coffee date. Nice surprise. While its entrance was very big and eye catching, it was located in a three-storey high old building that was 75 years old! The cashier counter was on the ground floor with seats upstairs. We ordered two cakes and two drinks
While its entrance was very big and eye catching, it was located in a three-storey high old building that was 75 years old! The cashier counter was on the ground floor with seats upstairs. We ordered two cakes and two drinks and then grabbed our food upstairs. They also served some bagels.
We had to climb some stairs up. Interior renovations were in line with that in their other branches. Very interesting and unique.
If you come at night, you may find it a little bit scary. Maybe it was the reason why they were organising some special haunted house activity here for Halloween.
We didn't want to walk too much so just got our seats on the second floor.
There was a nice balcony outside. If it was not too hot, it would be a good idea to enjoy your food and drinks there.

橙柚子芝士蛋糕 at $48
It was the seasonal mousse cake. Texture-wise it was very airy and light. Flavour-wise it was pretty rich in yuzu with some orange flavour. There also seemed to be some yuzu or orange skin to add texture. The base was not particularly crunchy but was quite nice to enhance the overall texture of the cake. Not bad!

Brownie at $45
The server was very nice to introduce a little bit more about the brownie to us. It was made from Colombia 70% chocolate which had some flowery aroma. He even offered to let us try a piece of their chocolate. They added a piece of walnut on top and there were almond chips inside to add texture. They said that it was the best brownie in town. Indeed, it was unlike those typical brownie which was so moist, hard and thick. It was dry and slightly CRUNCHY. And it was also not overly sweet. It was really one of the best brownies I had ever had. Even my lunch partner, who never really liked brownie, agreed that it was quite a good brownie.

73.5% Dark Chocolate at $52 (front) and Cold Brew at $60 (back)
For drinks, we were both attracted by their small bottles of chocolate and cold brew. Each bottle could fill up around 3 small cups. We were asked to shake them well before drinking. The dark chocolate was very very smooth and not bitter at all. I just tried a sip of the cold brew and my lunch partner said that it smelt very good. It would have been even better if both drinks could have been colder.
So our overall experience didn't seem to be as bad as that other eaters said they had. The cakes were definitely much better than I had expected after reading the previous comments. And more importantly, it was the environment and renovations here which had made our visit special. And needless to say, great place for IG lovers.
