This place is located in a not very glamorous area off the Kings Road but well worth making the effort to locate it.The first thing that hits you is how well decorated is the dining room, high ceilings, dark red décor with really comfortable leather chairs and sofas. The first thing that hits you is how well decorated is the dining room, high ceilings, dark red décor with really comfortable leather chairs and sofas. Very “clubby” and welcoming. It was a little sad that on a Saturday night there were only two other tables occupied. Felt that if the location was better this place would be packed.
We started with the classics, onion soup($55) and baked escargots($78). The soup was a little disappointing in flavor with a very small slice of toast on top and not enough lovely melted cheese that makes this soup a classic. The escargots were meaty with a generous and well flavored butter/parsley/garlic sauce.
For the main course we had the roasted duck breast($168) and the roasted stuffed chicken ($178). Both were delicious, the duck cooked to perfection and the chicken worthy of a Michelin star. Excellent cooking at reasonable prices.
Drinks are a little on the expensive side for the area, Beer $55 and glass of house wine $70, but the wine was good and a generous pour
.
All in the bill was $695, very reasonable, and we look forward to returning.
