A restaurant in Kennedy town with adorable vibes!
The whole restaurant is decorated with images/ pop-ups/ actual plushy toys of their cartoon mascot (which are on display racks for sale, such a clever marketing strategy). It might sound childish but the elegance of the marble tables, wooden floor and minimalistic cutlery sets elevates the style of the restaurant, attracting not only students but also the working population and couples on dates.
They have an extensive dinner menu with a variety of pasta, burgers, sides and mains and most importantly innovative dessert dishes on offer. On top of which, they also offer lunch sets which mainly include pasta, pizza and burger dishes. As we arrived at around noon, we took advantage of the lunch set deals (a dish and a cold/ hot drink) )
I ordered the Carbonara with Onsen Tamago (Fantasy), which is a carbonara dish made with cherry coloured spaghetti with and onsen egg on top. The dish was also dusted with red powder, which was rather tasteless (a hint of tomato and pepper maybe) and thus only added to the visual component of the dish, not the taste. The onsen egg is slightly undercooked in my opinion, with the egg white still a bit slimy but the runny egg yolk was so rich and creamy, just what I wanted in a carbonara dish. The coloured spaghetti actually did not taste any different from the original noodles but it was good for the gram. I really enjoyed the dish and though the portion did not look big, I was full 3/4 way of finishing the dish as the cream and the egg yolk really made the dish quite heavy. I would thus recommend sharing the dish with others. My friends went for the soft shell crab spaghetti and the eel rice set with seafood miso soup. They gave positive feedback for their dishes as well
I also ordered passionfruit green tea (hot), which came in their signature glass wear (a double layered glass). I really appreciated the layer of foam which sat on top of the warm drink. The tea was a bit too sweet for my liking so next time, I would ask to have less sugar/ syrup in the drink.
This is definitely one of the more unique restaurants in HK in terms of the decor. The food is not bad as well so I would recommend this place for a gathering with friends or a date.
