Was looking for something non-expensive after taking a walk at the West Kowloon district and we found Jin Ya Ju Noodle Bar for dinner. The store is decorated with huge glass windows so it’s gonna be a bit shiny when it’s at sunset hour. The food was not bad but of course not excellent, think it’s good to just have a simple meal here when you don’t want to do anything fancy.🥂Preserved Egg & Stinky Tofu $78If the stinky tofu is smoother in texture that would be better. 🥂Preserved Egg & Stinky Tofu $78
If the stinky tofu is smoother in texture that would be better. The flavour was alright but only if you could stand the stinky tofu smell.
🥂Teriyaki Mushroom $35
Very dry and no sauce at all. It’d be nice if they could provide mushrooms with sauce.
🥂Spicy Beef and Tendon Noodle with Chinese Pepper $138
The spicy level is default and it might be spicy to people who could just take a little spicy. You may choose the type of noodles you want. I think it’s quite good and the broth wasn’t very oily.
🥂Angus Beef Splashing Noodles $98
A bit far from a traditional splashing noodles as it supposed to have a decent smell from the oil and the spice. The angus beef on top also wasn’t very flavourful, they just tasted like the beef that’s used in hot pot.
🥂Spicy Dried Beancurd Sticks $30
Liked the aftertaste of it as the spice gradually gets stronger.
