Me and my friend got really tired after doing some shopping in Yuen Long, while we were looking for a place to eat down and rest, we saw this dessert place “Sweet button dessert”. Without thinking, we went inside. The place was cozy, it was a nice place to relax and have a chat.It was quite a cold day so I got the osmanthus honey tea, the tea was sweet and I love the osmanthus taste because it helps to calm me down. It was quite a cold day so I got the osmanthus honey tea, the tea was sweet and I love the osmanthus taste because it helps to calm me down.
My friend got the ice apple ginger ale, after looking at her drink; I regretted not getting the icy one because the presentation of her drink was just AMAZING! The chef put dry ice at the bottom of the glass so it gives out lots of smokes. The visual effect was fabulous; it felt like we were drinking some sort of special cocktail. The chef also explained that using dry ice can keep the drink cold and at the same time not going to affect the taste of the drink because if we put ice into the drink, when it melted, it will affect the taste of the drink. The drink was not so gingery and full of apple flavor. I like the bubbly effect very much.

The chef suggested the big sweet button combo to us because he knows we love dessert. This combo contains 3 chef selected desserts from A la carte menu and 3 mystery desserts. Wow, I was amazed by the presentation AGAIN! It looked like a piece of artwork that I don’t know where to start eating. The chef came around and told us the order that we should eat it.

Pumpkin cheese roll with cinnamon, this cheese roll looks like a savory pastry to me. When I eat it, the pastry was so thin and crispy. The filling inside was so soft and smooth. The filling was creamy and had a strong pumpkin flavor. It wasn’t cheesy at all. I like this one very much, the chef added a bit of twist in the presentation and made it very special and tasty.
Mango pudding with parfait was yummy. The pudding was soft and eggy. I have to say the parfait was fabulous, I could never imagine the parfait can be that soft. It was like eating creamy marshmallow, the texture was puffy, eggy and mangoly at the same time.
The Fuji apple tart with caramelized nuts and vanilla ice-cream was delicious. Apple crumble is always one of my favourite desserts and they did it very well! The apple was so not too soft, it was a bit crunchy! I love biting the caramelized nuts; it was so crunchy and sweet. The vanilla ice-cream was milky and smooth.
Banana rum mousse mille feuille with peanut crumble and mango sauce was new to me. It was my first time to try banana mille feuille. This dessert was actually very filling; the texture of the banana rum mousse was quite thick and so smooth. In a way, it felt like tofu texture. The banana rum mousse was delicious, the flavor was spot on! I didn’t know they will taste so well together. The pastry was so crunchy; it was so nice that I just want more.
Green tea pot de cream with red bean was smooth and milky. It was so smooth that it just slid through my throat. I could taste the strong green tea flavor. It was a bit bitter but that’s how green tea should taste like.
Milk chocolate mousse with carrot puree was very interesting. I had never taste anything like this before. I didn’t even know that carrot match so well with milk chocolate. The milk chocolate mousse was smooth and sweet. I love the taste of carrot puree with the chocolate; I think it will taste even nicer if the chef put more carrot puree into it.
Our last dessert was the black currant mousse, I found it quite sour but after eating all the sweet dessert, it helped to clear out my palate. The texture was very smooth and full of ribena flavor.
I love this dessert place very much. The desserts were amazing! The chef said that they change the menu every now and then so I will definitely go back there and try new desserts. I like the way that the chef make ordinary dessert with a WOW factor!
