After 2 hectic weeks, it is time to take a break on Sunday. First thing that come across our mind about Kwun Tong, it is an industrial / outlet area. There're many outlets in Kwun Tong that attracted people to come during weekends. However, there are also plenty of hidden restaurants inside these buildings too. Without word of mouth, it is hard to find them.The Base is located at Hewlett Centre, around 5 minutes walk from Kwun Tong MTR. If you drive, there are many car parks around. "The Base"
The Base is located at Hewlett Centre, around 5 minutes walk from Kwun Tong MTR. If you drive, there are many car parks around. "The Base" logo is visible from a distance. An open coffee corner on the left hand side of the door. The environment is comfortable and relax. Table seating was offered and looking outside, we saw outdoor seating is available. I love outdoor seating during autumn/winter but definitely not during the hot humid days.
The waiter placed a glass water bottle on our table and at first we thought it was the typical lemon water again. But out of our expectation, it is "mint leaves" water. Refreshing idea !
Lunch menu offer varieties of choice....salad, all day breakfast, burger, toast and desserts.

Salad is nicely presented. Fresh salad with honey mustard dressing and mushrooms and egg sunny side up. Toast is crispy and soft...strong butter smell and flavour. The slow cooked chicken breast is delicious! Meat is soft, tender and juicy! I must say, this is one good chicken breast salad I have eaten!

Same as the salad, nicely presented. Food is served on a wooden plate and it looks filling. Breakfast including: Homemade Foie Gras & Chicken, Portobello mushroom with spinach and poached eggs, Ham, Chicken & pork sausages, Bacon, Hashbrown, Roasted tomato, Croissant, Salad and Beans. The salad is refreshing...pomelo and grapefruit sauce. Croissant is hot and crispy. Poached eggs was just right!.....it is delicious
Lunch set is served with drinks. Ordered hot Americano and flat white.
Ice dripped coffee
The coffee is sour yet sweet and fruity. At first the taste is sour but the aftertaste is sweet and fruity! A drink to end up the lunch!
I must say The Base is one hidden cafe in Kwun Tong!
