Tucked away on Brown Street is a small and intimate Italian restaurant Dough Kitchen, which serves up a range of Italian comfort food. — This is their signature menu item and it’s no surprise why. I loved the chewy texture of their homemade pasta which was cooked to a perfect al-dente. The pasta really soaked up all the creamy goodness of the sauce and each bite was just as flavourful as the last. The sauce has a nice sea urchin aroma to it, without being too overpowering and strong on the palate. I thought the flavours were really well balanced and it’s a dish that you could finish on your own without it being too heavy. The sea urchin on top was pretty creamy, flavours weren’t that rich but acceptable for its price. Definitely a dish that tastes and looks good! 👍🏻
Pic 2️⃣: X.O. Sauce Lobster Pasta - $248 hkd 🦞
— Was recommended this by a friend who claimed it was better than their sea urchin pasta and I might have to agree on that! 🙌🏻The flavours in this are a lot more complex, with a rich umami profile that’s so addictive. Their X.O. sauce was so delicious and fragrant, as it incorporates conpoy, spring onion, chilli and a ton of other aromatic herbs and spices to give it that depth. The lobster was also really well cooked, leaving the meat tender and juicy. I really recommend this dish if you’re looking for something with a bit of a kick with a less creamy finish. I’m definitely coming back for this!!
