Things all started back in 2012 for Big Fernand when the little burger joint first opened at the border of the 9th and 10th arrondissement in Paris. Their success is quite amazing considering how they take the traditional American burger and give it such a unique Parisian twist. It's my second visit to Big Fernand at IFC but this time around, instead of ordering take-away, I had the pleasure of sitting down and enjoying it when it's still hot. That's a very impressive lineup of burgers they've got
Apart from the medium rare beef patty, Le Big Fernand also features sun-dried tomatoes, parsley, Tomme de Savole cheese and a specially homemade cocktail sauce. The key here was the Tomme de Savole cheese which was a lot richer and more buttery comparing to the cheese used for American burgers. The homemade French fries sprinkled with secret seasoning was equally amazing. Growing up as a kid in Canada, I got so used to having American burgers with milkshakes so it was a little weird having this French burger with a bottle of grapefruit flavored lemonade. I think I will sit at this counter table when I come back next time.
