Not knowing what to have for lunch, my sister thought of this newly opened burger joint in Wan Chai!Environment/ Decor: I would consider the layout of the place simple, but simplicity was the way to go since it went well with its theme. I felt like I wasn't in HK. The brightness of the place was the sunshine of California, the white walls were the clear sky and sandy beaches. Maybe because of the posters of beaches and sunshine, I felt like I was in A&F, but only there was the smell of burgers
Environment/ Decor:
I would consider the layout of the place simple, but simplicity was the way to go since it went well with its theme. I felt like I wasn't in HK. The brightness of the place was the sunshine of California, the white walls were the clear sky and sandy beaches. Maybe because of the posters of beaches and sunshine, I felt like I was in A&F, but only there was the smell of burgers instead of overly strong perfume and that I can actually see. Service & Hygiene:
Service was alright. We went on a Sunday afternoon, so the place was pretty busy, but the staff took time to answer questions we had about the menu. However, I wish they had knives. They had forks, but not knives. I know burgers aren't made for sharing, but some people are greedy and want to taste more than one thing. Whenever customers left, a staff would leave the counter and remove the trays and clean up so that it'd be clean enough for the next person. Taste & Value:
I was originally craving a sandwich, so I got the (Top) Calichicken sandwich ($45), which was the closest thing I could get to a normal sandwich. I liked it because first of all, the sandwich was fresh, and second I liked that the chicken was grilled and not deep fried. Although the chicken was tasty, it was really thin, so I felt the chicken was complementing the bun instead of the other way around. Since I ordered the chicken sandwich, my sister chose a (Bottom) beef Cheeseburger ($54). Again, the burger wasn't bad, but the patty was quite thin and was a bit bland. The best thing of the our lunch was the Califries ($28). From the picture, I though that it was a poutine, but it wasn't. Of course there was cheese on top of the fries, but instead of gravy, there were grilled onions. What a delicious combo I must say! The fries were really cheesy and the onions added so much flavours to the fries! We liked it a lot! Final Verdict:
I'd go back for the califries, but maybe not for the burgers since I know there are better ones out there.
