Much as I love coffee, I drink tea on a fairly regular basis. Tea Library is a new place offering handcrafted teas using Chinese tea leaves mixed with various fruit flavors. Much like Flamingo Bloom.Located in Central, the shop is fairly large with sufficient seating inside even though they are geared for take away. They offer four types of teas: oolong, pu'er, te guan yin and jasmine. They have a description of the teas they use as well as the benefits of each.
I ordered a cold pear te guan yi supreme ($36). As it's made to order, it took a bit of time to make. Size wasn't very large but it was the right amount for me. The taste of the tea was there though not very strong. It was nicely balanced by a strong taste of pear juice. There was even bits of pear to chew on. It wasn't too sweet. Overall, fairly good on a hot summer day.
Compared to Flamingo Bloom who does something similar, the tea base wasn't as good. I think Flamingo Bloom does a better tea with their various combinations. This place, however, only focuses on fruit bases and less on the boba though they also offer a cheese topping. They do have an interesting one called chocolate reserved ole pu'er. I might try that next time. Yes, there will be a next time.
