I feel I have some legitimity to write this review as I'm born in Britany, the place where crepes and galettes come from.A word of introduction though. One thing must be very clear: If you want to eat real quality crepes and galettes, you have to go to Britany. There are no other ways. Don't think that because you are eating them somewhere else in France, you are eating the real deal. 99 % of the time, that's not the case. Especially if you are in Paris. Paris crepes and galettes are pale copies

A word of introduction though. One thing must be very clear: If you want to eat real quality crepes and galettes, you have to go to Britany. There are no other ways. Don't think that because you are eating them somewhere else in France, you are eating the real deal. 99 % of the time, that's not the case. Especially if you are in Paris. Paris crepes and galettes are pale copies of the originals.
Having said that, you may find some restaurant which come close to offer the real deal. And, fortunately, La Creperie is one.

For this reason, I have gone several times there, either in Sheung Wan or Wan Chai and the quality was always the same. The last instance was for my birthday.
I took La Nantaise which has a combination cream, asparagus, mushroom, pancetta, onion and parsley inside the galette. The galette itself was fine if a little dry (a bit more butter could have been used). The inside was very tasty and balanced enough to appreciate the different tates of ingredients involved.

For the dessert, I took La Coupe de l'America, a crepe with chocolate sauce, cooked with grand marnier and with a mango sorbet. A good combination.

Of course, the meal was accompanied by a bottle of dry cider.
Very satisfying.

Prices are roughly the same as what you would pay in France which makes it a good place to go when you need your fix of crepes/galettes.
Other Info. : It seems many HKer fear 2 galettes/crepes won't be enough to satiate their hunger. I can guarantee 95 % of you will be full enough after such a meal.
