If you look at the menu and the mountain of butter and tea/coffee station, you'd probably check again to see if you were in a Toast Box. However, I doubt the two are related. We ordered the Laksa and Batung Beef sets with a Hot Lemon Water and Milo Dinosaur (+$10).The Batung Beef came with a portion of coconut rice and 2 shrimp chips that were glistening with oil; definitely not very good presentation. The beef was sliced beef shank(牛展), rather than the standard beef brisket and not very tender
We ordered the Laksa and Batung Beef sets with a Hot Lemon Water and Milo Dinosaur (+$10).
The Batung Beef came with a portion of coconut rice and 2 shrimp chips that were glistening with oil; definitely not very good presentation. The beef was sliced beef shank(牛展), rather than the standard beef brisket and not very tender. The rice was also average.
Laksa was quite spicy had had quite a few pieces of tofu, 2 pieces of fish tempura and 2 shrimps but the noodles appeared to be standard mai fun and definitely not of the standard that we've had in other Indonesian restaurants in HK.
The Hot Lemon Water had fructose added already and the server provided an additional 2 packets of sugar. Very odd because fructose usually isn't added to hot lemon water by default in Hong Kong and a lesson to always try your drink before adding sugar.
The Milo Dinosaur came in a tall glass, which was different from the one pictured in earlier reviews, and different from other people who had their's in Frappucino-style plastic cups. There didn't seem to be any consistency with which people got which cups, which was quite puzzling (maybe they couldn't wash the glasses fast enough?). It's definitely for those with a sweet tooth.
Service is also pretty spotty with a glass of ice water taking 3 attempts before we just walked up to the counter to get one.
At 65 for the Laksa and 70 for the Batung Beef plus an additional 10 for the Milo, definitely not value for money, but in IFC, what else do you expect?
