My friend had been to this Shungde restaurant many times and highly recommended it. The chef apparently used to work at the shungde association. All are individual rooms. For dinner tonite, she requested some off the menu items. The first 2 deep fried items might be a bit too heavy as appetizers, but my friend said nobody could make them better. Indeed, the batter was crunchy and light. Didn’t feel oily. Also went well with the champagne and white wine we brought.

Everybody really enjoyed the 魚羹 but I was weary of hidden small bones so didn’t eat much.
The 柚皮 was impressive. Normally I don’t Iike to eat it but there was no bitter taste in this one, even tasted a bit sweet.
