I heard about this Indian cuisine place in Central from my friends, so I went with boyfriend for lunch one day.It is on 2/F and we walked upstairs.It is not very spacious, just about 20 seats.A basket of papadum was served as appetizer. A basket of papadum was served as appetizer. The thin crisp came with different dips including spicy sauce, etc. I ordered a glass of Mango Lassi ($38), which is a typical yoghurt-based drink in India. It was thick and sour which can reduce the spiciness of curry.
My boyfriend had Iced Masala Tea. One good thing is that it was not too sweet.
The lamb shank is sizzling hotIt is marinated with Indian herbs and cooked in a clay oven. The lamb is quite tender and not strong in flavour.
Then we ordered a curry dish accompanied by two different naans: Garlic Naan and Cheese Naan ($48).
Here comes my favourite dishThe curry is mild in taste but rich in terms of flavour. The orange colour comes from tomatoes and Indian spices. Some cashew nuts were added in the curry to make it more flavourful.
The chicken was unexpectedly tender!
I prefer Garlic Naan than the cheese one. It was really large in size!
The best way is to dip the crispy and chewy Naan braed into the curry.
It was garlicky while the flavour of cheese naan was not pronounced.All in all, this restaurant serves authentic Indian food with a wide varieties of curry and bread. They also serves various vegeterian dishes. The staff were very polite as well.
