Ok, this is my first time commenting on open rice. But after dining at Backyard Bistro I felt that I had to share this experience with my fellow foodies, plus I wanted to be the first one to post a comment. The waiter recommended the French fish soup that had a myriad of flavors, although a bit big in portion it resembled bouillabaisse with its rich flavors and seafood combination.Next up for main course, I had the lamb rack. Next up for main course, I had the lamb rack. Now the biggest surprise here was the side dish. Potato gratin, oh how I’ve longed for this! Although it could be a tad bit creamier, I enjoyed the potato to the max due to the nostalgia. Now on to the lamb rack, it was covered and I assume marinated with fresh spices which gave it a nice savory flavor. The lamb carried a high quality and was very tender. Now I’m very picky with my meat but I really enjoyed this course. It even came with a side of sauce!
As for desert, I had the tiramisu. This desert is offered in many restaurants and can get a little boring at times. But I think it’s a good way to test out the dessert chef since I’m very picky with this particular desert. My Italian friend makes THE best tiramisu, rich on mascarpone. And I have to say, after trying it at Backyard Bistro, this desert is a worthy contender for first place. The top was creamy and had a wet piece in the middle with just the right amount of what I think was kahlua.
I can’t wait to go back, and if you are a foodie, this is the place to be!
