say good morning to proof's pastries! @proof_hk has been a neighbourhood bakery store near my school and i can't believe it's just my first visit here! totally captivated by their neon sign hung up their storefront and just the tiny rectangular-sized space for the admiration of their menu which changes everyday.
presuming that this is my first time trying hot cross buns, it leaves me an impression of being quite smol and dainty. it's like a freshly baked baby bread that you would caress its packaging with your graceful fingers.
inside it is some raisins, and on top is the crossed icing. it's quite soft, doughy and chewy, satisfactory for me. it's more like a hong kong styled raisin bread but much smaller. i do like the fact that it's the perfect size for a small breakie but it's just a bit pricey given the fact that they don't differ much from big, fluffy, traditional raisin breads.
i'd say if you're craving for a hot cross bun, it'll definitely satiate you. but if you're not, then go for their croissants, lemon poppyseed scones or cinnamon buns! i'm sure they'll bring me surprises next time with their classic croissant and cinnamon buns! do drop by and grab a coffee if you wish no carbs!
side note - staff are approachable and friendly as reheating service is settled without doubts. the hot cross bun ended up flawlessly steamy in my mouth.
