To be fair, the food is actually okay. But if you take into account the abysmal service, then you will leave with a foul taste in your mouth anyway.

The waiting staff actually could not care less if you like them or not- and boy do they show it. One actually came up to us mid meal to clear our table of chopsticks and plates. When we told her that we were not finished with our dinner yet, she shrugged like 'what are you going to do?'

The real kicker came when we tried to order more food. There was a deal on the sushi rolls- 2 rolls for $180, or 3 rolls for $240. We had ordered two to start with but after the food had arrived, wanted to add a third one. The waiter then told us, no, you can't switch to the 3 rolls deal, you need to start again by ordering 2 rolls, or 3. Thus paying the base price again. It didn't bother me so much that this was a 'rule'- though it is a stupid one. What difference does it make to the kitchen and waiting staff, all the food was going to be rung up on the same bill anyway. Nowhere on the menu did it state that all the food had to be ordered AT The Same Exact Moment in order for the deal to be valid, neither did the waiter tell us this 'super special' rule at the time of ordering.

It just seemed like they were trying to trick you for a few extra bucks, and then stupidly losing your customers altogether.

When challenged, the waiter just shrugged as if saying 'what are going to do' and then he just said outright, 'I guess you should leave then.'

I didn't expect the experience of a lifetime eating there but even going in with mediocre expectations, this restaurant fell way short.

Let's put it this way, Japanese restaurants are a dime a dozen in Central with much better food and better deals. Go elsewhere if you don't want to feel like second class citizens. I'll give this place another few months before it closes down.
