last night, the 5 of us went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. we booked in advance and on arrival we were shown to a 4 person table with a 5th chair added to the end. it was extremely cramped. we politely asked if it was possible to sit somewhere else. without much deliberation from the waitress, we were told we "have to" sit there. at the time, there were only 1 table seated and there were only 2 other reservations apart from ours. we spotted another table which would be more suited for
last night, the 5 of us went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. we booked in advance and on arrival we were shown to a 4 person table with a 5th chair added to the end. it was extremely cramped. we politely asked if it was possible to sit somewhere else. without much deliberation from the waitress, we were told we "have to" sit there. at the time, there were only 1 table seated and there were only 2 other reservations apart from ours. we spotted another table which would be more suited for us. asked politely again and got shouted at again by the same waitress. we couldnt believe such bad service could still exist. if it was not organised as a birthday celebration, i would have walked out.
our evening was luckily saved by their food. two of us had a life burger and it was extremely good. my other friends had the risotto which were ok. we had chocolate mouse cakes which came in huge portion. we also had a bottle of chardonnay which went very well with the food.
however, just when we were chatting away over desert and wine, a bill was put on our table. we hadnt asked for it. it was also given to all the other customers. it was merely 10pm. extremely early for a restaurant in soho. after paying the bill, we stayed to finish up our food and drinks. at 10:20, the music was stopped and the lights were turned on.
good griefs! i will not go there again!
