Ice Restaurant is a cha chan teng we go to a lot whenever we're in the Mong Kok area as we find their food decent with good portions and inexpensive prices. That is when we were surprised to find a branch in Tsim Sha Tsui. The restaurant here was much larger than the Yau Ma Tei branch and it was a lot brighter. On one wall it said they have branches in To Kwa Wan as well. Wow. Expansion!Menu is English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. Their first branch in Yau Ma Tei is in Chinese on
Menu is English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. Their first branch in Yau Ma Tei is in Chinese only and I did point that out in that review. The owner wrote a comment and said he will work to get a bilingual menu and they have! So pleased they take suggestions.
We came during dinner time and decided to order items from their dinner menu. Sets include rice. But even if you don't order the sets, everyone gets a bowl of Chinese soup of the day which that day was pork, lotus root and carrot. They give this to you even before you order.
This is the half a Salt Baked Chicken (68) was not part of a set but that was fine as we ordered one set so we can share the rice. A decent portion. The meat was moist and juicy. It was well seasoned with the salty marinade.
Steamed Fish ($58) was a set so it includes a bowl of rice and a standard drink. The fish was whatever they had available. As it was after a typhoon, they still had fish available. It tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly.
Food was decent. The place was clean and staff friendly. A good option for food in the Tsim Sha Tsui area.
