So my parents and I were in Wan Chai to get groceries for our CNY dinner, and we passed by a really fancy looking bakery called Passion. I popped in for a look and was AMAZED by the display of desserts/baked goods they had in their fridge.:Everything is so pretty and extravagant looking!Naturally I couldn’t resist and we bought a few treats to eat on the car.Service seemed a little snotty and the lady who served us doesn’t speak even Cantonese although she looked Asian to me..? Everything is so pretty and extravagant looking!
Naturally I couldn’t resist and we bought a few treats to eat on the car.
Service seemed a little snotty and the lady who served us doesn’t speak even Cantonese although she looked Asian to me..? But then I guess Hong Kong people enjoy this kind of attitude :/
This one is the Chocolate Banana Croissant. No complete picture because we got them to cut it up for us.

-The croissant was just okay. It wasn’t flaky and a bit too soft.
-The filling was delicious though. It was 50/50 banana and chocolate, very tasty and not too sweet.

My Dad also ordered an Almond Croissant. I don’t have a picture of it but it was not good. It’s basically a plain croissant with some sort of almond icing on top. There wasn’t even any almond paste inside! I would have expected much more from a decent-looking bakery like this one.
I bought a lemon cupcake to eat at home. I think it was actually a passionfruit cupcake with lemon frosting. And, of course I accidentally dropped the box on the way home and ruined the pretty frosting on top
To see what it was supposed to look like you can refer to the very first picture above, on the right.

Presentation aside, this cupcake was disappointing as well. The lemon frosting tasted very sweet and artificial, and the cupcake was too floury! Not to mention that this cupcake alone was $44. At least we got to keep the little ceramic cup it came in which we now use as a soy sauce dish

I would give this place another chance though seeing that they have such a large variety. I hope my next visit would be less disappointing!
