). Traditionally, egg tarts have two main types of crusts: shortcrust pastry which is made with butter or puff pastry which is made with lard. The crusts here are the shortcrust pastry made with butter. It is thicker and harder than others I have tried so it tasted more like a cracker. The taste is rich with butter flavor and it contrasts very nicely with the rich and soft custard inside. The custard was still warm which made it perfect to eat. One cost $6 which is slightly higher than a lot of places but it's worth it.
