I knew that it would be a great meal as I walked up and was hit by a wave of smoke from the kitchen - the smell reminded me of many a restaurant in Chengdu. There's no mistaking the mix of spices in real Sichuan cuisine. Tried three dishes and they were all excellent. The twice-cooked pork was very tender and my favorite. Tried three dishes and they were all excellent. The twice-cooked pork was very tender and my favorite. All of them were good and spicy (made my cheeks and forehead sweat a bit) but weren't knock you down spicy like full-on Sichuan cuisine.
Washed down with a cold Tsingtao, it was a simple but brilliant meal. Definitely will come back.
