Recently, I have been craving this kind of food nonstop! Since there are 3 places that serve the same kind of food in the area, I decided to opt for the one that I haven't tried before. Environment & Hygiene:
I find this place sketchy looking, maybe it is the lighting or set up, but I just find it uncomfortable. Also, maybe because it was a bit unkept, as the seat I sat at was quite dirty. There was grease on the seat with dust from ages ago.
Service:
We were welcomed right away. However, the server was awkward, not that service was bad though. Cultural differences I guess? Taste & Value:
Maybe because of the competitors nearby, they have lowered their prices. The Chicken Kebab we shared was $45. The size of it was similar to the other places, but flavourwise, this was the best. Every bite was a combination of freshness from the veggies and juiciness from the tender chicken. The flavours were well sunk into the meat, and there was enough sauce, so I thought that it was very tasty. The spicy level was medium by the way. Buddy J had told us how amazing the Cheese Fries ($45) are, so we ordered that as well! I think I had expected too much as I didn't find them as amazing as Buddy J described them to be. There was plenty of cheese and sauce, but the fries were not crispy enough as a lot were quite soft. Also, I'm not a big fan of mint, so the sauce was too minty for me. The two of us knew that we'd be thirsty after the fries and spices, so we each got a Mango Lassi ($20). Although it was quite watery, It wasn't bad because it wasn't too sweet. Buddy M wanted to try this dessert Gulab Jamun ($10), but I didn't because I find it too sweet. Buddy M liked it though.
Final Verdict:
Although I still can't find the perfect Kebab in HK, this one will have to do for now.
