This is hands down one of my favourite places to go in Hong Kong. Not only is the price very fair (as compared to what you pay for pricier places like Hutong or Sanxilou) but the portions are incredibly reasonable. Not only is the price very fair (as compared to what you pay for pricier places like Hutong or Sanxilou) but the portions are incredibly reasonable. Their business model is very simple, you go in, tell them how spicy you want it, dry or oily (dry involves them stir frying all the ingredients with the chilis and oily involves them drowning all the ingredients in fragrant oil), choose your ingredients (kind of like hotpot) and that's it. I've never had a bad meal here and this place is perfect during the wintertime. They have the usual side dishes (I ordered a side of stir fried chilli potato which are strings of potato that are blanched so they retain a crunchy texture and are stir fried in Sichuan chilli oil). Anyways, onto the main dish, my favourite ingredients that I usually typically include in the "dry" version of the hotpot include pigs stomach, okra, lotus root, beef cubes, chicken and bean sprouts. Definitely order a bowl of white rice when eating this. Furthermore, the spice level is not insane so I usually order spicy although my friends prefer mild instead of spicy. Décor is pretty plain but who cares when you have good food haha. Definitely will come back again and again.
