I was also in the area attending someone's birthday which of course had these gourmet longevity buns!!
It started off with the crispy suckling pig which was tender and tasty. Next were the squid slices, springy prawns and sugar snap peas which were glistening and appetizing.
The vegetables were in this delicious light gravy that was not too salty and heavy with the courses to come.
Next were the huge bouncy minced crab claw, usually served during banquets.
The soup was one of my favourites that night loaded with my favourite bamboo piths, again it was light and satisfying.
The fish is always my favourite and it was steamed just right and the fish was flakey.
After eating quite a bit of the fish, I was a bit full for the mushrooms, so I decided to leave some room for the chicken and noodles.
As always I pick the white meat and it was still tender and moist so it was done nicely.
Finished the last course with efu noodles laced in shrimp roe which gave it such a briny flavour.
Now to the moment of excitement because everyone was looking forward to the buns!
The bun was soft and fluffy with this huge yolk oozing with golden oil, it was so nice that I finished someone elses bun too.
There was also the dessert soup which I gave to the person sitting next to me because she gave me her bun!
