Being located in a vintage part of the city, this restaurant provides a cozy space for after-work chills and casual dining. My friends and I started off with a nice portion of garlic bread, a soup each and we ordered some other dishes to share.

The Bread ($68) was fresh, airy and crunchy. Didn't think diced black garlic could actually make such a nice sweet spread!

The French Onion Soup ($68) was another beauty. With the fried onions finely diced, it has made the sweetness richer than usual, which was soaked up by the cheesy black toast. I was surprised to have found there was a little piece of pan-seared foie in the soup as well. That instant melt-in-the-mouth indulgence pairing with the sweet broth was absolutely gorgeous.

The Romaine Salad ($98) was delicately dressed in a sweet sauce, served with a bit of anchovy, avocado and some black croutons. I won't say it was anything wow but would serve a nice and refreshing side along with the other dishes.

KB's Chicken ($88) was basically deep fried chicken pieces coated in breadcrumbs made with its homemade bamboo charcoal bread. While it did look interesting but not particularly appealing (tbh), the breast meat was unexpectedly tender and juicy but far from greasy! The sweet yellow potato chips below were amazing as well. So mushy with a light crunch on the exterior. Marvel!

The mini burgers ($148)  had a piece of thickly cut foie gras and a wagyu patty sandwiched in a spongy charcoal black bun. It was indulging indeed even though the patty was slightly over-seared. But what I believe has really differentiated it from other foie burger is the slightly tangy kimchi inside, which has made a good balance with the grease from the meat and all.

Fries was unbeatable as well. While it is all crunchy and delectable, they were served with a homemade sweet ketchup that has a really pronounced ginger flavour. I thought the sauce was quite special indeed eventhough I had not been a huge fan.

The Black Truffle Porcini Pizza ($128) had the crust thin yet not deadly crisp. It was slightly chewy in the centre, with the edges a little crunchy. The aroma from the truffle was subtle but I like it this way as the overall combination of flavours would not be too overpowering and intense.

The Black Ink Pasta ($198) came with 2 Tigar Prawns with its carapace all pilled off. I tried a bit of the homemade squid ink pasta and found that it was perfectly al dente for my liking. The portion size was not exactly made for sharing though.

I love how jazzy the All Day Breakfast ($98) was presented. Underneath the pork sausage, salmon, ham and Tomato, you would find the nicely sautéed mushrooms and spinach on top of the thick bamboo charcoal toast. I think the best part was definitely the homemade hash made with US and local potato shreds. So flavourful it was.

In general I thought the food was cutely presented and they all tasted delicious. Dishes were of great value considered its portion size, quality, as well as location of the restaurant. Can't wait to bring my friends over next time!
