I'm a big live-and-let-live person, and in the past I have described myself as a "pizza pluralist," meaning that I don't hold to rigid rules that require pizza to be done in the Chicago way or the New York way or the Naples way or whatever. Pizza, perhaps moreso than any other dish, is a canvas open for experimentation and innovation. Alternatively, it's got mayonnaise for a sauce, shellfish on top, and is served with hot water. I aver that the pizza was indeed food, in the sense of sustenance-providing organic matter. It was not much more than that. The chicken was dry and bland. The whole thing was bland. There was a hint of sauce and a hint of cheese, but not much the taste of either. Only the squash stood out, and there was precious little of it.
Crust: OK, C+
Sauce: Meh, C-
Toppings: Poor, D
Hey, maybe we ordered the wrong thing. But I ain't coming back to find out. For now, I'll believe in good Sheung Wan pizza when I eat it. Until then, this place gets a C.
