The place was packed on a Saturday evening and the waiter came to ask us if we wanted to try their assortment of Belgian beers. We tried some really interesting and novel flavours - there were raspberry, citrus and honey flavoured beers. Us girls went for the fruit flavoured ones whilst the boys had a nice frothy ale.

Whilst we were waiting for our mains, we had the buffalo wings and mac & cheese. The wings were nicely meaty with a tangy spicy coating. As if mac & cheese wasn't a delicious enough combination, it was topped off with crispy deepfried bacon bits. Heart attack in a bowl but worth every bite!

So expectations were set high when it came to the food. There were over a dozen kinds of sausages to pick from and we chose several styles - hot dog, pasta and pizza. Naturally, we couldn't resist the famous sweet potatoe fries and truffle mayo. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! not greasy at all. but one complaint is that we could have done with a larger portion after our all-day hike.

the habanero was a bit spicy for my taste and my favourite hands down was the gruyere. my boyfriend liked the portobello sausage pizza and he said that it was the best gourmet pizza experience he has had in a very long time since his gap year in Italy. It had a crunchy thin crust and was generously topped with fresh cherry tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, creamy mozarella and some freshly chopped oregano.
The best gourmet sausage pizza ever!

I don't need to say more about how yummy it was and the next time I had a pizza and movie night at home, I am definitely getting a Brat delivery.

We were completely satisfied but dessert deserves another room in your stomach so we could not resist the deep fried mars bar. So decadently sinful and rich! With a non-greasy batter, the mars bar pieces are nicely bite sized and warm from being freshly fried. The nougat and caramel just melts on your tongue and the vanilla bean ice cream from ben and jerry's is the perfect complement.

I am definitely coming back to Brat! Yums!
