I was so pleased to bring something new for my children's lunch last week, but when I opened the boxes when I arrived home - a Pulled Pork Sandwich and a Cheddar Hotdog - both bread buns were BURNT BLACK !!!The most outrageous part ? When I called immediately to speak to the Manager, it was the Manager himself who was the one who toasted and burnt the hotdog buns and KNOWLINGLY still put them in the boxes and served them to me ! This was after a long 15 minute wait and HK$169 for 2 hotdogs and a poutine - not exactly value for money.
The Pulled Pork Sandwich filling was at least nicely done. The Cheddar hotdog was far too salty and unsuitable for children (it was recommended by the person at the till as being really good and popular for children). The poutine had only a few measly bits of "curds" and a tub of artificial tasting gravy most of which had spilted as the lid had not been closed properly by the staff.
When I read an interview of the Yonge Piggies founders and their reasons for opening this place when it first opened, it was encouraging. But serving black, burnt hotdog buns to customers at this price is not acceptable !
