It's a casual Sunday so decided to head over to this part of Shatin for lunch because everyone says area had a lot of yummy local eats. I was actually craving a nice bowl of Vietnamese beef noodle soup at the moment, so when I saw this restaurant, I thought it was gold.First off, this is a very local restaurant and the patrons are most often noiser than usual. First off, this is a very local restaurant and the patrons are most often noiser than usual. However, this particular franchise had tables set up outside so if you're looking for a more outdoorsie meal, you'll have that option (it was 33 degrees when I went so sitting outside wasn't even an option for me ) There was a good amount of variety in the lunch menu and everything looked quite appealing. The prices are pretty decent for a casual lunch hence, I didn't start with any expectation. As suspected, I didn't like the beef noodle soup. THe noodles were too thick and stuck together and the flavour tasted like MSG. The worse part was I ordered extra green onions and they gave me ones that weren't all that clean! I spent 5 minutes picking out all the black and dirtied ones and then ended up not finishing 1/5 of the bowl. Luckily, I had no expectations. I kept picking at my friend's stirfried thai noodles because it tasted so much better than my beef noodle soup. It was slightly too oily, but it was hot enough and it was flavorful enough with spices that I didn't think it was only MSG. This was a nice surprise Overall, what can I say. It's a casual lunch and relative to the price, it's an okay restaurant. Probably wouldn't go back, but I'm sure it still gets a lot of local customers who live around the area.
