It was time for our team lunch and we wanted to have Italian, so we came to the location of The Italian Club (without checking Open Rice), thinking that it was where the previous Italian restaurant was. We came and discovered that the previous restaurant was replaced by The Italian Club. Nevertheless, we had cravings for Italian, so we went in to try in any event. The interior was quite dark. The interior was quite dark. The decor mainly consisted of black furniture, black wall, hanging wine bottles and wooden table top to give it a classy, high end restaurant feeling. There was also a bar area.
The food wasn’t as expensive as we thought and was actually quite reasonable.
We ordered 2 salads, 2 pizzas and 3 pastas to share among the six of us. The food was served within reasonable time. The mozzarella salad was a mozzarella salad. The Parma ham pizza was really nice and mushroom pizza was good. The three pastas were all “al dente” but two or them were a bit too hard under HK standards. The carbonara spaghetti was just right in terms of hardness. The portion for the pastas were quite small.
There was only one waitress at the restaurant and most of the time she was not present at the floor area.
Conclusion:
- Classy decor
- Reasonable price for lunch
- Food served within reasonable time
- Recommended: Parma ham pizza
- Pastas were “Al dente” but two of which were a bit hard under HK standards
- Portion size for pasta was quite small
- Only one waitress
