Boyfriend and I are massive fans of Grilled. It's our one stop place when we are in the Lan Kwai Fong area and need a quick bite before we meet up with friends. Recently, we noticed something new next door. Thainan Chicken. Apparently but the same people who brought about Grilled, I guess they decided to open up a sit down place. So, we decided to grab something to eat before, yes meeting up for friends later on in the night.I love this wall. I think I'm the only one who probably sees Rachel Zoe

I love this wall. I think I'm the only one who probably sees Rachel Zoe there. I doubt that woman eats anything. She's so skinny.

Menu is in English and Chinese. They have actual plates of fast food type Thai dishes.

And as they are run by the same people as Grilled, you can order their skewers here and have a place to sit instead of standing on the street.

As it's very casual, you do order and pay (cash only) at the cashier. There is no 10% service charge.

Boneless Thainan Chicken (Regular size for $68).  They have a choice of half, whole or regular size which usually means quarter. The chicken meat was moist and seasoned well. I found it odd they placed boiled cabbage underneath as I expected some cucumber and carrot shreds.  I wasn't keen on the cabbage as it was not seasoned at all.

Fried Rice with Thai BBQ Skewers ($68). The rice was a bit spicier than I had expected but then I'm at a Thai place so what am I complaining about? I let boyfriend eat most of the rice. The skewers that came with this was beef, pork and chicken. The beef was the best. Just moist and tender. Oily and juicy.

Pineapple Skewers ($20), Pork Neck ($20), Squid ($20) and Short Ribs ($40).  Boyfriend was still hungry so we ordered a few skewers. These came from next door and they arrive in a bag and place a plate underneath. This slightly amused me. Just like Grilled next door, you have a choice of what sauces to be basted in. Our favorite from this place is always the pork neck. But we have a new favorite now. Squid. The squid was not overcooked so not rubbery like I feared it may be. Though a bit too spicy as boyfriend chose a spicy sauce.

The skewers are still the best and will always be my favorite for a quick bite. It's nice they added other additions to their menu. Along with a seating area, it's a good place for a pit stop after an exhausting evening out. Will be back.
