I pulled my boyfriend down to Tak Fat Beef Ball on the last day of my trip in Hong Kong as it was one of the "to-eat" that I had on my list but we didn't have much time to go down. Both of us did not regret making the decision to head down to Tak Fat to get some beef ball noodles. Cutting straight to the point, the beef balls were springy (not the most springy) but it was good and it was quite flavorful with the beef taste in it. My boyfriend (who doesn't usually like beef or noodles) were so blown away by the beef noodles that he wants to go back to Hong Kong again just to eat it. I personally felt that the beef balls were good while the beef brisket was passable. I really enjoyed the soup though.
This may not be the cleanest or most hygienic place but we enjoyed the different environment. Warning to people who are extremely particular about cleanliness, you might want to give this place a miss. There was a strong smell of gas that made me really uncomfortable. Also do note that some Cantonese might be required to order the meals and do not be shocked if they throw your bowl of noodle on the table. It's a norm.
Overall it was a new and 'fresh' experience in an interesting environment for me and I was not disappointed by the beef ball noodles as well as hor fun.
