Kwun Tong is well-known as an industrial area. There's actually over hundreds of hidden restaurants inside these inconspicuous buildings. This time we popped in 1960, an intimate restaurant providing international cuisine. Each set menu came with a plate of fresh greens with sweetened peach and potato cream soup.Garlic Prawn - authentic Gambas al Ajillo. Each set menu came with a plate of fresh greens with sweetened peach and potato cream soup.
Garlic Prawn - authentic Gambas al Ajillo. Pungent garlic crisps and cherry tomatoes soaked in aromatic olive oil. Crunchy prawns with a nice sear on the surface.
Bratwurst platter - $158 for such an incredible portion! 3 kinds of sausages with Sauerkraut. Perfect for sharing.
Black truffle pasta cabonara with parma ham - aromatic black truffle with rich and creamy sauce. Matched well with the finely cooked spaghetti and delicate parma ham.
New Zealand rib eye - tenderized to the point that even it was medium well, the tendons were edible.
Overall this place offers good value for money and big portions. I'd advise you to make a reservation to secure your seats because it was fully seated on just a weekday in such a competitive area!
